Linda Klimovicova, who hails from the Czech Republic, achieved a significant milestone by winning her first match while representing Poland. The 20-year-old's triumph propelled her into the second round of the ITF W15 tournament in Monastery. In a thrilling first-round encounter, she defeated Laia Petretić with a score of 6:2, 6:0. Her next opponent in the tournament will be Ksenia Zajcewa, with the match set to take place on Thursday, January 9. Klimovicova officially became a citizen of Poland on November 11, 2024. On this memorable day for Poles, her name, along with a white and red flag, appeared on the official WTA website. Born in the Czech Republic, the talented tennis player now represents BKT Advantage Bielsko-Biała. In October, her association with the club led by Piotr Szczypka was announced, confirming her Polish citizenship. Currently, Klimovicova ranks as the sixth-best female tennis player in Poland. Above her in the WTA rankings are Iga Świątek, Magdalena Fręch, Magda Linette, Maja Chwalińska, and Katarzyna Kawa. The 20-year-old Czech-born player holds the 271st spot in the rankings. She is also the top seed in the ongoing Monastery tournament. In 2022, she reached the semifinals of the junior Wimbledon championship.
