. Jan Szczęsny shares details about Wojciech Szczęsny's premier debut. Wojciech made his debut at FC Barcelona, and the behind-the-scenes story unfolds through his older brother's eyes. In an interview, Jan recounts his experience when fans mistook him for his brother at a fourth division match and asked for photos together. He clarified the confusion and had a pleasant conversation with them. Regarding Wojciech's debut, Jan mentioned that he seemed relaxed and prepared as he had ample time to get ready for the game. Joining the club in an emergency scenario, Wojciech knew he wouldn't be starting right away, especially considering he was mentally retired. However, Jan observed that Wojciech appeared calm and composed now. Jan also disclosed that Wojciech consulted Hansi Flick regarding his debut, discussing whether the King's Cup would be a suitable stage. Flick agreed, and Wojciech preferred experiencing the adrenaline rush sooner rather than later. Jan Szczesny also shared his verdict on the competition between Wojciech Szczęsny and Inaki Pena. Having previously lost out to Pena, the match against Barbastro wasn't seen as a significant test. Although Wojciech kept a clean sheet, the level of competition was minimal, and according to Jan, there's no reason for a change in the goalkeeping position yet. Additionally, Jan delved into the dynamics of the competition between the last-minute Polish acquisition and the much younger Spanish goalkeeper. Evaluating from a coach's perspective, Jan explained the importance of trust in the existing goalkeeper and not disrupting the team's stability. As long as Pena performs consistently, Flick won't make any changes. If the system is working smoothly, there's no reason to intervene, Jan concluded.
